OUTDOOR NEWS: Missouri
Introduces Bill to Hold Businesses That Post “No Guns” signs Liable. Most
of us are frustrated by the prevalence of signs that prohibit us from carrying
in various businesses that we encounter day to day. Another way would be how
Missouri is dealing with it. There, legislation is being considered to hold
businesses who prohibit firearms liable for injuries to people who could have
defended themselves. Certainly, businesses are averse to incurring
liability. Such a remedy would bring more CPZ signs down faster. That’s good
for everybody.
In local news, the Manitowoc County Deer Advisory
Committee (CDAC) met at Viking Bow & Gun Club on Saturday at noon
and there was only 13 citizens there to voice their opinions dealing with CWD
issues. A very good point brought up by a committee member was, only 1,600
people in the whole state of Wisconsin submitted feedback during a public
comment period which ran from Dec. 20th to Jan. 3, 2017. 1,600 out
of nearly 600,000 deer hunters in this state. Boy, all of you are really
something if you do not care that much about your deer problems in the state.
Listen, I’ve said this many times, if you do not care enough to take off 2
hours for the day to express your opinions or input into a state conducted
meeting, please keep your mouth shut if you do not like how the rules are being
made by those of us who did take the time to show up at the meetings. It’s
always the same people at these meetings who care enough for a sport we are
trying to protect.
