Highlights:
  • Enjoy birding in the pine savannas and wetland habitats of Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, in the mountainous terrain and Caribbean pine forests of Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve.
  • Observe species such as the orange-breasted falcon, stygian owl, ocellated turkey, bare-throated tiger-heron, black-collared hawk, neotropic cormorant and king vulture.
  • Learn about Mayan culture and the resident wildlife that live within the ancient temples and alters of the Cahal Pech Mayan ruins.
  • Travel up to Tikal National Park. The 54,610 acres of rainforest protects a wide range of wildlife including spider monkeys, ocelots, jaguarundis, tapirs, howler monkeys, coatis, and giant anteaters.
