Hunter participation plays a vital role in funding for wildlife management, conservation efforts and keeping alive this time-honored lifestyle and tradition. However, new hunters don’t make it to the woods and fields without the guidance and encouragement of a mentor. Join The Revolution this week as we talk about recruiting new hunters, hunter education and so much more with our panel of pros. Joining us will be Eva Shockey, of “Jim Shockey’s Hunting Adventures” on Outdoor Channel, as well as Alli and Adriana Armstrong, hosts of “Grace, Camo & Lace” on Sportsman Channel. Finally, Greg Randolph from DECKED will round out our panel with crafty tips for in-vehicle truck storage solutions. Eva Shockey-Brent
Eva Shockey has used her platform to bring awareness to and be an outspoken advocate for the hunting and outdoor lifestyle. Eva hardly needs an introduction; she is one of the most recognizable faces of the outdoor industry and brings the world along on her adventures, chronicling them through social media or on episodes of Jim Shockey’s Hunting Adventures on Outdoor Channel. She’s also the author of TAKING AIM: Daring to Be Different, Happier and Healthier in the Great Outdoors.
Tune in to The Revolution this week as Eva offers her thoughts on the future generation of outdoorsmen and women. Eva tells Jim and Trav that she embraces being a role model and especially to little girls, making a point to stop and spend time with as many as she can, hoping to have a positive impact on their desire to get outdoors. She also acknowledges the role that moms play in bringing kids into the hunting fold. Eva says that if moms respect and appreciate hunting for the valuable source of food it brings to the table, they are more likely to encourage their kids in hunting pursuits. Tune in for this extended two-part interview as Eva also discusses conservation, empowering others and the responsibility she feels to raise her daughter with a passion for the outdoors so future generations have the same outdoor opportunities that she has had.
Adriana & Alli Armstrong
Young blood is exactly what the outdoor industry needs in order to continue to foster new generations of outdoorsmen and women. “Grace, Camo & Lace” on Sportsman Channel follows two of these up and coming hunters on their adventures across North America. Adriana and Alli Armstrong are accomplished archers and hunters and they bring a youthful energy and passion for hunting and the outdoors to each episode. This week they join The Revolution and talk about their introduction to hunting at a very early age. Fast forward a few years and now they are using their platform and passion for the outdoors to encourage others to get involved. They’ll discuss the decline in the number of hunting licenses sold and how they are using their show to reach out to and expose more people to the outdoors.
