This popular outdoor company just severed ties with the NRA — and they didn’t even say why

A popular outdoors brand, which is known for its rugged coolers, has severed ties with the National Rifle Association and the pro-Second Amendment organization’s charitable arm.
What happened?
YETI Coolers has cut ties with the NRA Foundation, the NRA announced Friday. According to the NRA, YETI did not offer an explanation why it decided so suddenly to end its relationship with the NRA Foundation.
YETI has been a longtime partner of the NRA, where their products are routinely used in charitable raffles to support youth programs nationwide.
How did the NRA react?
In a letter, the lobbying arm of the organization called the sudden act “shameful.”
“Suddenly, without prior notice, YETI has declined to do business with The NRA Foundation saying they no longer wish to be an NRA vendor, and refused to say why. They will only say they will no longer sell products to The NRA Foundation,” the NRA-ILA said.
“That certainly isn’t sportsmanlike. In fact, YETI should be ashamed. They have declined to continue helping America’s young people enjoy outdoor recreational activities. These activities enable them to appreciate America and enjoy our natural resources with wholesome and healthy outdoor recreational and educational programs,” the letter continued.
The NRA-ILA’s letter also included YETI’s corporate contact information, perceivably so NRA supporters can voice their displeasure with YETI’s decision.
