Are Your Kids Curious About Firearms, Archery, or
Shooting Sports?
Parents
with little or no experience with guns or bow and arrow sometimes fear
their children's inherent curiosity about archery and firearms. It's an
understandable reaction: How do you safely help your kids explore
their interest?
For parents familiar with the shooting sports, finding a venue to
introduce their children to responsible firearms ownership, basic
firearms safety, and the fun that the shooting sports can provide for a
lifetime, this event addresses all those needs at a
introductory level.
Since 1998, Heritage Shooting has offered our Annual Youth SportsFest.
Participants are taught basic gun and bow handling safety and learn
about different shooting sports, receiving one-on-one instruction and
supervision from our experienced staff including many
- NRA Certified Firearms
Instructors
- Wisconsin DNR Hunter
Safety Instructors
- National Archery in the
Schools Instructors, and
- National Field Archery
Association Instructors.

NRA
Youth SportsFest
August 11th
8:30am -
3:30pm
This event is -
by design - a non-competitive, educational, and fun day
where your
children will learn 3 simple safety rules, which if always followed,
will ensure they will never harm themselves or another with a firearm
or bow. Your child will get to try shooting sports
using air rifles, bow and arrows, handguns, rifles, and shotguns to
help satisfy their curiosity while practicing the the safety skills
taught under the watchful eye of our experienced instructors.

We welcome and encourage parents to
stay and watch throughout the day. It starts with a classroom
session that briefly covers topics including our American Heritage and
Shooting Sports traditions and the 3 Safety Rules. Then your child will
rotate through each of the shooting sports venues (air rifles, archery,
rifles, and shotgun) where all kids receive one-on-one instruction and
safety supervision. After lunch (provided), your son or daughter can
return to any of the venues they choose to have fun and explore their
interests further.

All youth appropriate equipment
(including eye and ear protection) and lunch is provided by Heritage
Shooting. All you need to provide is your time, your child, and
weather-appropriate clothing (and maybe your camera) and be prepared to
learn and make some great memories.
