For years, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers has been working with sportsmen and women to conserve sage grouse and its sagebrush ecosystem. Now, with a bad sage grouse rider being considered for inclusion in a major defense bill, we’re stepping up once again – and need your help. The rider language in the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA, prohibits the Department of the Interior from listing the sage grouse under the Endangered Species Act for 10 years. Sage grouse and other conservation-related policies do not belong in defense bills, and the rider would set a damaging precedent for similar packages as well as future ESA listings. Join us in speaking up to keep sage grouse out of the NDAA. With your help, we can remove the bad sage grouse and future ESA listing riders out of defense bills where they do not belong.
