Roger's Outdoor Notes

FISHING NEWS:   Due to the weather changing every day, the fishing reports are kind of mixed. In the Southern Lake Michigan they are catching steelheads in the Milwaukee River and brown trout in the harbor before this last snowstorm. Some brown trout were caught near Jones Island or by trolling near the Harbor Gaps, where some were also reporting catching lake trout. In Northern Wis. there are some lakes with ice still on them, but lots of open waters around the landings, and the fishermen were still getting crappies, but the safety of the ice is a huge question. Remember what I always say, NO fish is worth your life, please use common sense and if you feel you don’t have any, stay home. Around the lakeshore here on both the East Twin and West Twin Rivers, there are some fishermen searching for steelheads and brown trout. I haven’t seen a lot of fishermen standing on the banks in the last week. Hopefully the weather will warm up a little and the fishermen will be getting back on the rivers.
