Here is a program being held once again this 2018 year by the Association for the Developmentally Disabled of Manitowoc County Inc. will again be sponsoring a summer camp for 2018. The Association for the Developmentaly Disabled (ADD) is a non-profit, non-political association partially funded by donations from the community and fund raisers. It is our intentions to improve services ad programs for the developmentally disabled of all ages through education, social events and recreational activities.
There will be three camping sessions this year. Camp is for ages 10 years and up, for individuals with cognitive, mild physical and / or developmentally disabilities who can emotionally and physically adapt t the camping environment. Mini camp will be June 25-27, 2018. Week 1 Cap will be July 23-27, 2018 and Week 2 Camp will be July 30 - August 3, 2018. Each session will accommodate 40 campers.
Camp this year will be at Camp Sinawa in Valders. The Director is Linda Gordon and Co-Director is Kathie Miller. Other staff members will be medical staff, activity, arts & crafts, nature and many other things.
The funding for the camp comes from ADD camp fees and donations from the community. The Cost of Mini Camp is $85.00 and for Week 1 and Week 2 Camp is $175.00.
Thsoe unable to pay for the camp fee can apply for Campership. Campership is intended to pay for up to half the camper fee. Sometimes there are special circumstances and full Campership may be given. Each request is looked at on an individual basis.
The ADD of Manitowoc, Inc. hopes you will please consider this worthy cause, and help support the camps for 2018.
