Outdoor News

FISHING NEWS:   The fishing this past week has been really hard according to reports across the state. Anglers from Marinette County to Brown County reported numerous attempts at walleye and brown trout. Murkier waters did not help any, but some fishermen were having luck catching northern pike. Brown County fishermen who did have some success catching walleyes noted that the fish were fully spawned and on their way back to the bay. Stream anglers are reporting a difficult steelhead bite in Eastern Door County, suckers have dispersed in Kewaunee county, leaving the steelhead there more visible as temperatures climb upwards.  Water temps range from 40’s to 50’s. Fishing in the Manitowoc County area has been very slow and hopefully this weekend will pick up once the weather warms up again. Fishing south of Manitowoc county in the Port Washington and Milwaukee areas has been so-so for steelheads and brown trout. Let’s all hope this changes in the next few days. EAST and WEST TWIN Rivers has been very slow for both brown trout and steelheads. Not a lot of fishermen in either spot this past week. Do not forget that the CUB Radio Sport Fishing Reports will be starting once again on Memorial Day Weekend Friday May 26th, so tune in to CUB Radio at 980 AM in the mornings. More information will be coming in the coming weeks.
