FISHING NEWS: N.E.W.G.L.S.F. will be holding their
next meeting on Thursday April 20, 2017 at the City Limits starting at 7 pm.
The Guest Speaker for the April 20th meeting will be Charter Captain
Matt Thayer from Sheboygan. Matt has a great deal of experience of fishing on
Lake Michigan and it should be a very interesting evening to see if you will
learn any new ideas for fishing on the lake. As a reminder about the May
18th meeting, they will have Charter Captain Russell Gahagan who is
also from Sheboygan speaking. Do not forget that the May meeting is also the
meeting where you will have a chance to sell or purchase hunting or fishing
gear. All monthly meetings include a prize raffle and lunch. Memberships can
also be paid at that time.
The 2016 Yearly Club Winners are: Brown Trout – Ken Lau
19.80 pounds; Chinook Salmon - Joe Sharpe 27.63 pounds, Coho Salmon
– Joe Sharpe 11.81 ponds, Lake Trout – Mark Schad 18.8
pounds, Rainbow Trout – Keith Neuwens 17.19 pounds.
NEWGLSF Grand Slam Winner in 2016 is Bob Kulis “Uncle Bob” with 78.51
pounds. Do not forget that the Manitowoc Salmon Derby will be held on
June 30 to July 2nd and the Two Rivers Derby is July 21 to 23rd.
