Dear Roger P,
We appreciate you taking a
moment to review the current and upcoming events with your Association.
Thanks to all the volunteers
from the Chilton, Fox Valley, and Lakeshore chapters who helped us pull off
our first Spring Shoot at Joe's Clays on Saturday. We had nearly 60 rounds
shot, and 22 rounds of flurry shoot, at this new venue. The next shooting
event is at the end of June, and then two events, in the 3rd week of
July.
The "grand finale"
for our shoot series, the "Hunter's Eve Bash",
will move again this year, to the gorgeous Waverly Beach, located on the
south side of Neenah, on the shores of Lake Winnebago. It'll be a great
"end of summer" party, the Thursday night before Labor Day weekend.
We'll give away the grand prize Browning vault, plus a bunch of other cool
stuff, including the sweet Packers tailgate set that we didn't get to use at
the weather-canceled Madison shoot. Please mark your calendars, and plan to
join us that night. I'll need a handful of helpers, but if you just want to
relax, and you've attended any of the shoots, it'll be just $20 for free beer
& great eats. That's where we'll also give away the Chevy Heaven raffle,
if we can sell enough tickets.
The truck
raffle seems to be off to a bit of a slow start, at least based on
tickets/monies turned in, and we're entering a key time, with Father's Day gift
buying coming up soon, plus plenty of people going to
college graduation celebrations. Although we've got more than 1,000 tickets
out in the hands of sellers, I'd still like to get more out there, especially
as I prepare to put their availability into some Facebook advertising. Please let me know if you'd like to
join our selling volunteers. Like the Conservation
Calendar, the truck raffle has the potential to make us HUGE money,
if we can maximize its potential.
Remember, WWA will incentivize
our volunteer sellers/chapters in two ways:
The committee continues to
push forward on the 2019 - 10th Anniversary Conservation Calendar, which is
still expected to be distributed, right after the 4th of July holiday week,
as it has been the past couple years. Watch for further updates on this, as
we get closer.
Finally, at last night's Board
of Director's conference call, the board made the decision to seek appointees
to fill out the remaining terms for two directors who've resigned their positions over the last 90 days.
Each of these terms has about 18 months remaining, so they would provide an
excellent opportunity for someone to "try on" the role, without
making the full three-year commitment of a regular term. If you're interested
in learning more about these opportunities, please call board president,
Bruce Urben, at 920-660-2773.
Thanks for all you do, your
effort makes the Association, and all that habitat work, possible...
