Whitetails Unlimited Awards $5,000 Grant to the National 4-H Shooting Sports
Whitetails Unlimited recently provided a $5,000 grant to the National 4-H Shooting Sports Program. The program will be holding their National Championship tournament June 24-29 in Grand Island, Nebraska. WTU has supported the 4-H Shooting Sports Program, nationwide for over 30 years. In addition to the national championships, WTU has also contributed to the 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor’s Workshops. The workshops educate instructors on how to certify 4-H coaches in their state.

The 4-H Shooting Sports Program offers a wide variety of disciplines including, rifle, shotgun, pistol, muzzleloader, and archery. It is estimated that the program has reached over 450,000 youth in 47 states. The championships anticipate close to 1,000 youth and instructors in Nebraska next month.

“The National 4-H Shooting Sports Program is doing an awesome job at growing their program and keeping youth engaged in shooting sports,” says Whitetails Unlimited Program Services Director Russ Austad. “It’s thrilling for us as an organization to see these youth take their shooting skills into the woods, if they haven’t already.”
