Roger's Outdoor Notes

FISHING NEWS:  Well today marked the 5th day of Sturgeon Spearing and the totals are as follows:  They harvested 32 fish from Lake Winnebago and 18 fish from the Upper Lakes. They are currently at 67% of both the male and female harvest caps and would need a harvest of either 22 adult females or 54 males to reach the 90% trigger that would close the fishery the next day. Five more fish over the 100lbs was registered and it looks like the number of 5 is holding on for the larger fish. Remember, with the warmer temps this weekend, please use extreme caution when out on any ice. I don’t want to have to report a death of a fisherman because he refused to use good common sense and not go out on the ice. No fish is worth your life, a very dollars will buy a fish at the fish market.
