Roger's Outdoor Notes

FISHING NEWS:  Saturday’s Sturgeon Spearing day ended with a total of 31 fish taken. 20 of them from Lake Winnebago and 11 from the Upriver Lakes. With the drop in harvest the last few days it looks like we will have our first 16 day season on the Upriver Lakes. The fishing season is at the ½ way point as of today and many of the fishermen have called it a season due to the ice conditions, but there is still a number of diehard spears still looking to fill their tags. DNR pilots was up in the air today for an aerial shanty count and there were still 826 shanties on Lake Winnebago this morning and another 90 on the Upriver Lakes.
