The California
Supreme Court says state laws cannot be invalidated on the grounds that
complying with them is impossible.

President Donald
Trump and Senate Republicans plan to move quickly to install a new Supreme
Court justice to replace Anthony Kennedy - launching an election year fight
over a decision that is likely to reshape the court for a generation.

"You have to
believe in protecting the entire Constitution, as written, including the
right to free speech and the right to keep and bear arms. Second
Amendment," he said.

The Oregon Supreme
Court has temporarily blocked an initiative that would ban the sale of some
semi-automatic guns and high-capacity magazines just over a week before a key
deadline, likely stopping it from making the November ballot.

|
|
|
With lower courts
split on the issue, the Florida Supreme Court said Tuesday it will take up a
question about whether a 2017 change to the state's "stand your
ground" self-defense law should apply to older cases.
|
|
|
|
|
Because of intense
public interest in the question of making Tazewell a Second Amendment
sanctuary county, the board moved the question to the top of the evening’s
agenda and unanimously voted to approve the resolution.

|
|
|
“The Second
Amendment protects modern firearms just as the First protects the internet,
TV and radio,” he said during an interview with the Prairie State Wire.
“Semi-auto firearms have been around for over a century. Semi-automatic
firearms are easier for women to shoot and control, and are the overwhelming
favorite of shooters. There is no logical reason to ban them.”
