New Mexico: City Council to Hold Final Vote on Gun Control Resolution

Since March, your Las Cruces City Council has debated and discussed, no less than three times, proposed resolutions to restrict your Second Amendment rights -- all under the guise of school safety.

The AMA’s policy-making House of Delegates Tuesday endorsed several gun control measures including renewed support for banning assault weapons and bump stocks and raising the legal age to 21 for purchasing firearms and munitions.

The bipartisan U.S. Conference of Mayors passed a series of resolutions calling for more gun control measures during the group's annual meeting in Boston this week.

Judge Andrew Napolitano on Tuesday told FOX Business Opens a New Window. that credit card processor Intuit Opens a New Window. is within its rights to shut down payments on gun purchases.

Despite a unified effort by celebrities and politicians to usher in gun control legislation, the American public has responded by joining or donating to gun rights organizations in large numbers. Sportsmen comprising firearms enthusiasts and hunters believe a concerted attack on firearms is a concerted attack on their sporting lifestyle.

The NRA's Institute for Legislative Action on Monday issued a statement urging people to contact City-County Council members who are scheduled to make a symbolic vote on the issue and express opposition.

So far, the SAFE is not shaping up to be a deterrent, either to the criminals who ignore it, nor to the lawmakers who feel compelled to improve upon it. There is no evidence to date that would suggest that the SAFE Act has had an impact on crime way or the other, although it has made a goodly number of honest citizens look like criminals.

Fairfax, Va.— The National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) today announced support for a lawsuit brought by the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs (ANJRPC) to challenge New Jersey’s ban on so-called “high capacity” magazines.

The National Rifle Association scored a significant victory on behalf of law-abiding gun owners with the issuance of a temporary restraining order in the case of Guns Safe Life, Inc. v. Village of Deerfield. The temporary restraining order issued by the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit Court for Lake County, Illinois bars the Village of Deerfield’s enforcement of an ordinance that bans possession of certain firearms and prohibits possession of ammunition magazines that are standard for many of the nation’s most common handguns and rifles.
