Yesterday, Senate
Bill 677 was passed in the North Carolina state House of Representatives
by a vote of 92-23 with an amendment offered by Representative
David Lewis (R-53) to improve the language. The Senate concurred with
the change by a vote of 41-6, clearing the way for the amendment to be
placed on the November ballot.

The cornerstone
gun-rights decision, Heller v. D.C., the case in which the U.S. Supreme Court
ruled that the Second Amendment of the U.S. Bill of Rights is indeed an
individual right, has reached its 10th anniversary.

|
|
An amendment
protecting the right to hunt and fish has backing from the National Rifle
Association and is based on NRA-suggested wording.

|
|
|
|
Columbus must halt
enforcement of its bump-stock ban and an ordinance that made carrying a gun
while under disability a misdemeanor as a Franklin County court decides a
lawsuit brought by gun rights groups.

|
|
|
The marchers plan to
demand city officials and lawmakers use their muscle to create more jobs and
better schools on the South and West sides, where some neighbors are plagued
by violence, and to tighten gun control.

Attorney General Pam
Bondi’s office has acknowledged that legal precedents would allow a
three-judge panel of a federal appeals court to decide a dispute about
whether the identity of a 19-year-old Alachua County woman should be kept
secret in a challenge to a Florida law that raised the age to purchase rifles
and other long guns.

On Thursday, June
28th, at 9:00 am, the Board of Directors for the 32nd District Agricultural
Association and the Orange County Fairgrounds will be meeting to discuss the
approval of upcoming contracts for the Fairgrounds. The approval of the
Gun Show contracts are among those listed for consideration
