New Jersey: Gun Control Bills Pass Legislature, Now Heading to the Governor

Today, the New Jersey Senate passed a package of gun bills which had been previously adopted by the Assembly.


NRA Challenges Oregon Gun Ban

Files Joint Legal Challenge with Oregon Hunters Association The National Rifle Association today announced the filing of a joint legal challenge with the Oregon Hunters Association to contest the state of Oregon’s Initiative Petition 43, which seeks to ban commonly owned semi-automatic firearms and standard-capacity magazines. 


California DOJ Submits Proposed Regulations Expanding Application of “Assault Weapon” Regulations to Office of Administrative Law

On Friday, May 25, the California Department of Justice, Bureau of Firearms (CA DOJ) formally submitted a proposed regulation expanding the application of the definitions for terms relating to “assault weapons” to apply in all circumstances.  The Office of Administrative Law (OAL) will decide whether to approve the regulation on or before July 10, 2018.


Guns haven't changed. People have changed. Behavior that is accepted from today's young people was not accepted yesteryear. For those of us who are 65 or older, assaults on teachers were not routine as they are in some cities.


New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo wants to allow teachers to ask a judge to remove guns from the homes of troubled students.


Former President Clinton invoked former Sen. Robert F. Kennedy in a call for increased gun restrictions on Wednesday during a memorial for the 50th anniversary of the former senator and attorney general's assassination.


Legislation to ban the sale, purchase or transfer of “assault-style” weapons failed to make it out of a Senate committee Wednesday — a victory for the hundred or so Delawareans who showed up to protest the measure and the many more who made their opposition clear on social media or in calls and emails to legislators.


New Jersey lawmakers are set to vote on a half-dozen measures to tighten the state’s already-strict gun laws.


A proposed ballot measure that would restrict ownership of assault weapons and large-capacity magazines wound up in the Oregon Supreme Court after a gun rights proponent on Wednesday petitioned for a review of the ballot title, saying it was politically charged and deceptive.
