Today, the
North Carolina Senate passed Senate Bill 677
|

|
The shooting
massacre in February at a Florida high school has unleashed a plethora of
what experts say are questionable statistics that stoke confusion regarding
gun violence in America.
|
|
|
|
|
The decision came
after a brief discussion among City Council members Tuesday night as they
considered tweaks to the ordinance outlawing the sale and possession of
assault weapons, bump stocks and high-capacity magazines. Boulder, the
council and several city officials are being sued in two separate cases
challenging the measure.

|
|
|
Area sheriffs say
they won't change how they handle security and don't anticipate problems or
additional expenses related to the state Supreme Court's ruling that people
with enhanced concealed-carry licenses can take their guns into courthouses.

The Judiciary
Committee sent five bills to the full House on Tuesday.

|
Gov. Cuomo said
Tuesday he doesn’t expect any more major pieces of legislation to pass this
year, including his own proposal to allow cops, family members and school
employees to “flag” gun owners who could be a danger to themselves or others.

Bloomberg, the billionaire former mayor of New York City, has decided to
throw his political clout and personal fortune behind the Democratic campaign
to take control of the House of Representatives this year, directing aides to
spend tens of millions of dollars in an effort to expel Republicans from
power. Mr. Bloomberg — a political independent who has championed
left-of-center policies on gun control, immigration and the environment — has
approved a plan to pour at least $80 million into the 2018 election, with the
bulk of that money going to support Democratic congressional candidates,
advisers to Mr. Bloomberg said.

This morning, the
House Judiciary Committee continued its push for gun control by passing House
Bill 1872, legislation which would ban many firearm accessories.

|
On Monday, the
National Rifle Association posted a meme encouraging its members to carry
their firearm. Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts instantly took
the tweet to mean that a man was now running the gun rights group's social
media accounts. Why? Because what woman would
willingly encourage women to "gain weight?"

On Wednesday, June
20th the Saratoga City Council will hold a public meeting to discuss a
proposed ordinance that would require the mandatory lock storage of firearms
in the home and reporting within 48 hours of any lost or stolen
firearms.
