New York: Red Flag Bill Would Allow School Employees to Initiate Gun Confiscations

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is using his bully pulpit again, proposing more gun control in New York as he launched a bus tour full of theatrics this week calling for teachers and other unaccountable school officials to confiscate firearms.

YouTube terminated the account of Iowa gun seller Brownells without warning over the weekend, then quickly restored the video channel after pressure from gun supporters.

The bill will make it illegal for firearms and ammunition to be transfered or sold to young adults aged 18-20 by licensed firearms dealers. In other words, AB3 is just a bailout for unlicensed firearms and ammunition dealers.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is pointing to Dick's Sporting Goods as proof that "responsible corporate leadership" is good for business.

Gov. Cuomo ratcheted up pressure on Republicans who tenuously control the state Senate to pass a “red flag” bill that would allow teachers, relatives and law enforcement to seek court orders removing guns from people they view as dangerous.

Ohio State University's board of trustees approved a resolution last week that would allow some off-duty officers to carry concealed weapons on campus.

Oregon: NRA Opposes Attempt to Fast-Track Gun Ban Initiative

Less than 24 hours after the NRA and other petitioners filed a legal challenge opposing the certified ballot title for Initiative Petition 43, the Oregon Supreme Court issued an order consolidating all legal challenges, denying oral arguments, and establishing imminent filing deadlines.  On June 11th, the NRA, along with other petitioners, filed a motion of reconsideration with the Oregon Supreme Court objecting to their scheduling order.
